2月2日に品川区立八潮図書館でナイジェリア出身のEmmyが英語のおはなし会をしました。動物をテーマに絵本を読みました。最初にEmmyの生まれ故郷のナイジェリアの言葉で挨拶をしました。ナイジェリアには日本からの直行便がないので、トルコやタイで乗り換えるそうです。次に、動物の名前を英語で確認しました。小学生は「この本、知ってる！」と言って、「くまさん くまさん なにみてるの」のお話を一緒に声に出して読みました。

On February 2, Emmy from Nigeria hosted a fun English storytime at the Shinagawa Yashio Library! This time, he read a picture book on the theme of animals. Emmy kicked off the event by greeting everyone in his native language, making it extra special. Since there aren’t direct flights from Japan to Nigeria, Emmy shared that he will be making a stop in either Turkey or Thailand on his journey home. As we explored the names of animals in English, the elementary school students got really excited and shouted, “I know this book!” They couldn’t wait to join in as they read the story, “Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See?”
