今日（きょう）は、はじめて青葉区（あおばく）のあおばおもちゃのひろばで多言語（たげんご）おはなし会（かい）をしました。20人（にん）満席（まんせき）になって、子（こ）どもも大人（おとな）もたくさん参加（さんか）しました。インドネシア、ラトビア、コスタリカのメンバーが自分（じぶん）の国（くに）の言葉（ことば）でお話（はなし）を読（よ）んだ後（あと）、ゲームやダンス、歌（うた）を歌（うた）いました。子（こ）どもたちは、聞（き）いたことがない言葉（ことば）でも、「わからない」、「むずかしい」と言（い）ったりしません。子（こ）どもたちは、聞（き）こえた言葉（ことば）を聞（き）いた通（とお）りに返（かえ）します。ラトビア語（ご）の難（むずか）しい発音（はつおん）もしっかり真似（まね）ていました。ちょっとした体験（たいけん）が子（こ）どもの異（こと）なる文化（ぶんか）への興味（きょうみ）や関心（かんしん）を育（はぐく）むのではないかと思（おも）っています。

Today was our very first multilingual storytelling session at the Aoba Toy Plaza in Aoba-ku. We had 20 participants, including both kids and adults, who filled the space with excitement. Our members from Indonesia, Latvia, and Costa Rica shared delightful stories in their native languages, and afterward, we had fun playing games, dancing, and singing together.

It was heartwarming to see the children embrace the stories with open minds; they didn’t say things like “I don’t understand” or “It’s difficult,” even when they heard languages they had never encountered before. Instead, they enthusiastically repeated the words they heard and even did a fantastic job imitating the tricky Latvian pronunciation! I truly believe that these experiences spark children’s curiosity about different cultures in a beautiful way.
