11月（がつ）6日（にち）、青葉区（あおばく）の認可保育園（にんかほいくえん）「プレスクールあおば」の子（こ）どもたちと、多言語（たげんご）おはなし会（かい）を行（おこな）いました。スウェーデンとカナダ出身（しゅっしん）のメンバーと一緒（いっしょ）に教室（きょうしつ）へ入（はい）ると…びっくり！先生（せんせい）たちが、スウェーデンとカナダの食（た）べ物（もの）や人気（にんき）スポーツ、観光地（かんこうち）などを大（おお）きなポスターにして壁（かべ）いっぱいに飾（かざ）ってくださっていました。地球儀（ちきゅうぎ）まで用意（ようい）されていて、子（こ）どもたちが“世界（ちきゅう）”に触（ふ）れられる環境（かんきょう）づくりが本当（ほんとう）に素敵（すてき）でした。
さらに、普段（ふだん）の給食（きゅうしょく）でも和食（わしょく）だけでなく、さまざまな国（くに）の料理（りょうり）を取（と）り入（い）れているそうです。

おはなし会（かい）では、スウェーデンのメンバーが「怖（こわ）がらせるのが苦手（にがて）なおばけ」の絵本（えほん）をスウェーデン語（ご）で読（よ）み聞（き）かせ。最後（さいご）に人間（にんげん）と仲良（なかよ）くなる、心温（こころあたた）まるストーリーに子（こ）どもたちもほっこり。そして、スウェーデンの有名（ゆうめい）な“カエルの歌（うた）”を歌（うた）うと、

すぐにメロディーを覚（おぼ）えて鼻歌（はなうた）で歌（うた）う子（こ）もいました。

カナダのメンバーは “I Like Me!” を英語（えいご）で読（よ）み聞（き）かせ。自分（じぶん）を大切（たいせつ）にする気持（きも）ちを育（はぐく）む一冊（いっさつ）です。読（よ）み終（お）えた後（あと）は、「オオカミさん、いま何時（なんじ）？」の遊（あそ）びを、カナダの動物（どうぶつ）“ムース（大鹿（おおしか））”バージョンにして楽しみ、教室（きょうしつ）は大盛（おおも）り上（あ）がり！

短（みじ）い1時間（じかん）でしたが、子（こ）どもたちの心（こころ）に「世界（せかい）は楽（たの）しい」という記憶（きおく）が残（のこ）ってくれたら嬉（うれ）しいです。

On November 6th, we held a multilingual story time with the children at Preschool Aoba, a licensed nursery school in Aoba Ward.When we entered the classroom with members from Sweden and Canada… what a surprise! The teachers had decorated the walls with large posters featuring Swedish and Canadian foods, popular sports, and tourist spots.

They even had a globe ready, creating a truly wonderful environment for the children to connect with the “world.” Furthermore, we heard that their regular school lunches incorporate not only Japanese cuisine but also dishes from various countries.

During the story session, the Swedish member read a Swedish-language picture book about a ghost who’s not very good at scaring people.

The heartwarming story, where the ghost eventually befriends humans, left the children feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. Then, when they sang Sweden’s famous “Frog Song,”some kids quickly picked up the melody and started humming along.

The Canadian members read “I Like Me!” in English, a charming book that helps kids feel great about themselves.

Following the reading, we played a game inspired by “What Time is it, Mr. Wolf?” but with a fun Canadian twist—the “Moose” version! The classroom was buzzing with excitement!

Though it was only a short hour, we hope it left the children with the memory that “the world is a fun place.”
