SCCはアイネット地域振興財団（ちいきしんこうざいだん）の助成（じょせい）を受（う）け、児童養護施設（じどうようごしせつ）の子（こ）どもたちに異文化交流（いぶんかこうりゅう）プログラムを実施（じっし）しました。インド、エクアドルに続（つず）いて、今回（こんかい）はナイジェリアのメンバーが文化大使（ぶんかたいし）を務（つと）めました。最初（さいしょ）にエミーはナイジェリアの有名（ゆうめい）な場所（ばしょ）、食べ物（たべもの）、そして楽器（がっき）をスライドで紹介（しょうかい）しました。これまで見（み）たことも、食（た）べたこともない真っ赤（まっか）なスープやご飯（はん）に子（こ）どもたちも興味深々（きょうみしんしん）。どれも辛（から）いそうで、小（ちい）さい頃（ころ）から辛（から）い食（た）べ物（もの）を食（た）べていると聞（き）くと驚（おどろ）いていました。次（つぎ）に紙皿（かみざら）を使（つか）った首飾（くびかざ）りを作（つく）りました。紙皿（かみざら）の輪（わ）っかの部分（ぶぶん）が痛（いた）いと言（い）って、縁（ふち）をシールで覆（おお）う子（こ）どももいて、工夫（くふう）をしていました。そして、黄色（きいろ）の服（ふく）を着（き）たシンデレラの遊（あそ）びをしました。ルールを理解（りかい）できるか不安（ふあん）でしたが、私（わたし）たちSCCメンバー5人（にん）で見本（みほん）を見（み）せたあと、３つのグループに分（わ）かれて歌（うた）いながら楽（たの）しみました。１０を数（かぞ）えた時（とき）に手（て）が触（ふ）れたらアウトというゲームでとても盛（も）り上（あ）がりました。最後（さいご）に英語（えいご）のおはなしを聞（き）いて、エミーへの質問（しつもん）タイムをしました。身長（しんちょう）は？足（あし）のサイズは？好（す）きな食（た）べ物（もの）は何（なに）？とナイジェリアという国（くに）よりもエミーへの質問（しつもん）がたくさん聞（き）かれた回（かい）でした。

SCC received a grant from the I-NET grant to run a intercultural exchange program for children in foster home. Following India and Ecuador, this time a member from Nigeria served as cultural ambassador. Emmy started by showing a slideshow of famous places, foods, and musical instruments from Nigeria. The children were curious about the bright red soup and rice, which they had never seen or tasted. They were surprised to learn they had been eating spicy food since they were little. Next, we made necklaces using paper plates. Some children found the edges of the plates uncomfortable, so they covered them with stickers to be creative. Then, we played a game called “Cinderella in Yellow.” We were worried the children might not understand the rules, but after five SCC members showed them how to play, we split into three groups and had fun singing a song. Finally, we listened to a story in English and had time to ask Emmy questions. They asked, “How tall are you? How big are your feet? What is your favorite food?”Children asked more about Emmy than about Nigeria, leading to a lively conversation.
