On September 11th, we had a playgroup session on the theme of animals. We said the names of animals in Japanese and English and played with animal sounds.Elena read the picture book From Head to Toe. Then children created the animals out of the milk carton. They were so engaged and seemed happy to walk with the animal toy made by themselves. Risa, a nursery teacher, talked about disaster drills that even two-year-olds can do. She said the first eight seconds can mean the difference between life and death. Following her call “Let’s be a tortoise!”, we all got under the desks and did the turtle pose together. We hope the participants will remember the practice in case of an earthquake. The next playgroup session will be on October 23rd. See you there again!
9月11日に動物をテーマにしたプレイグループをしました。日本語と英語で動物の名前を言って、動物の鳴き声で遊びました。エレナは「頭からつま先まで」の絵本を読んでくれました。その後、ママと子どもたちは牛乳パックで動物を作りました。工作の後は、子どもたちは、自分で作った動物のおもちゃを持ってうれしそうに歩いていました。保育士のリサは、2歳児でもできる防災訓練について話しました。最初の8秒が命を守るそうです。
「カメになろう！」の掛け声に続いて、親子で机の下でカメのポーズをしました。参加者の皆さんには、地震に備えて今日の練習を覚えてほしいです。次回のプレイグループは10月23日です。またお会いしましょう!
