Ume Syrup Making   梅(うめ)シロップづくり

In June, Japan enters a hot and humid unpleasant rainy season. However, it is also the season that the green plums with a good fragrance can be harvested. We Japanese call “ume-shigoto,” and people make preserved foods such as pickled plums, plum wine, and plum syrup. It is the only time of the year when you can work with plums. Take this opportunity to try your hand at making plum syrup!!!We will prepare and store the ume in syrup together, which will be opened in August during our Creative Monday event. All participants are invited to join us to taste the refreshing drink we made!

6月(がつ) 、日本(にほん)は梅雨(つゆ)になり、毎日(まいにち)湿度(しつど)が高(たか)い嫌(いや)な季節(きせつ)です。でも、香(かお)りのよい青梅(あおうめ)がとれる時期(じき)でもあります。日本では「梅仕事(うめしごと)」とよんで、梅干(うめぼ)し、梅酒(うめしゅ)、梅(うめ)シロップなどの保存食(ほぞんしょく)を作(つく)ります。梅仕事(うめしごと)ができるのは1年(ねん)でこの時期(じき)だけです。この機会(きかい)に梅(うめ)シロップ作(づく)りを体験(たいけん)しましょう!この梅酒(うめしゅ)は8月(がつ)のクリエイティブ・マンデーズで開(あ)ける予定(よてい)です!みんなで作(つく)った爽(さわ)やかな飲(の)み物(もの)をいっしょに味(あじ)わいましょう。
