Background
SCC has been actively providing opportunities for international residents to share their skills and culture with Japanese residents, and vice versa. With the “Share your Skills” initiative, we aim to bring out the potential of each individual and allow all local residents to make full use of their skills and abilities, regardless of their background or knowledge of the Japanese language. We welcome residents of any nationality willing to engage with the community. We are working to increase work opportunities, as well as diversity in the community.
Objectives
To create opportunities for local residents to contribute their skills, knowledge, experiences, and culture, regardless of nationality or language abilities, to build their own self-esteem and create a more diverse, international-friendly community.
Who can participate
Open to any individuals residing in Yokohama and surrounding areas. Any nationality is welcome. Willingness and passion for sharing and working in a multicultural environment are essential (“I want to share,” “I want to try,” “I want to contribute,” etc.). SCC membership as a team member (annual membership fee of ¥3,000) is required for registration. Please refer to the Join Us page on this website for the membership details.

Whether you are a newcomer or a senior living in Japan, we encourage you to actively take part in your community. Participating in “Share Your Skills” will help you to:

About language support within SCC
Our communication during events and activities will mainly be in English and Japanese. However, we will be able to support other languages depending on the availability of our members. Feel free to discuss with us your language preferences.
