Thank you everyone who joined us for Multilingual Story Time & Mission Game on Dec 15,2019.
We had a storytime with people from diverse backgrounds
and 4 of the storytellers from Japan, USA, Costa Rica, and Thai
read “ The Very Hungry Caterpillar” in their native language.
Japanese storyteller was a visually impaired person and she read a book in braille.
SCC and Japanese Service Dog Resource Academy which is supporting people with disabilities were so excited to hold this storytime as we feel that “differences” are not well-accepted here in Japan.
Following the storytime, the mission game was taken place and that encouraged participants to communicate with storytellers to achieve the goal of the mission. It worked well and they’ve got a greater connection!
We were so glad to see that one child showed an interest in braille writer and having a chat with a Japanese visually impaired storyteller.
