SCCは、令和6年度かながわボランタリー活動奨励賞を受賞しました。市民団体として憧れていた賞を受賞することができ、とてもうれしいです。推薦をしてくださった横浜市都筑区こども家庭支援課に感謝いたします。
私たちは、2014年から横浜市北部地域に住む多文化・多言語の家族の子育て支援事業と外国出身者を講師とした子ども多文化交流事業を行っています。活動を始めて5年目の2019年にN P Oとして組織化しましたが、約半年後にはコロナ禍に見舞われ、団体運営に苦労しました。その時に、都筑区の子育て支援拠点ポポラと共催で外国人親子向けに防災や小児救急のワークショップを開催したところ、外国出身者はそれぞれの日本語力によって、得られる情報に差があることを知りました。
長引くコロナ禍で活動に制限があり、何ができるかと考えて取り組んだのが英語とやさしい日本語での地域の子育て情報冊子の制作でした。実は、やさしい日本語版は、同じ受賞団体でもある認定NPO法人地球学校さんに校正をお願いし、ご協力をいただきました。いっしょに受賞することができて、うれしいです。いただいた賞金は、ウェブサイトの改修費用に充てる予定です。これからも社会を変えるNPOとしてのミッションを果たしていけるよう、力を尽くしていきます。皆さま、引き続きどうぞご支援をお願いいたします。

SCC is honored to receive the Kanagawa Voluntary Activity Encouragement Award for 2024. This award is important to us as a citizen’s group. We want to thank the Child and Family Support Division of Tsuzuki Ward, Yokohama City, for recommending us.
Since 2014, we have been running a parenting support program for multicultural and multilingual families living in northern Yokohama, as well as a children’s intercultural program featuring lecturers from other countries. We became an NPO in 2019, five years after we started. Unfortunately, just six months later, we faced challenges due to COVID-19. During this time, we co-hosted a workshop on disaster prevention and pediatric first aid for multicultural families with the Popola Childcare Support Center of Tsuzuki Ward. This workshop showed us that information access varies for people from other countries based on their Japanese language skills.
With our activities limited by the ongoing pandemic, we considered how we could best support our community. As a result, we undertook the publication of a local parenting information booklet available in both English and easy Japanese. We collaborated with the certified NPO Chikyu Gakko, an award-winning organization, which kindly helped us proofread the easy Japanese version. We will use the prize money to renovate our website. We are committed to making a positive impact in our community. Thank you for your ongoing support.
